The assembly of speaker cabinets and sub woofers has greatly improved using the Champ 3 hot melt gun with GIA1051 hot melt adhesive available only from Glue Machinery Corporation.
These self contained adhesive hotmelt guns melt and apply hot melt adhesive with accuracy and speed to countless substrates and surfaces. In this featured application, hot melt adhesive is applied to the wooden speaker cabinet and sub woofer components.
The hot melt applied to the speaker cabinet and sub woofer by the Champ 3 is both a bonding agent and an acoustical sealant.
Please review the included unsolicitied testimonial regarding our gun and glue:
| Hi Pierce,
Just wanted to let you know the the Champ 3 glue applicator I not only use it to glue my subwoofer boxes together, it works great as The Champ 3 also lays down a 1/4″ line of glue with There is less mess due to not having to manipulate the sealant by hand. Hope everything is well and talk to you next year. Have a great holiday. Bill @ Brightstar Car Audio |

Non woven materials can be easily bonded together with hot melt adhesive. Glue Machinery recently demonstrated this successful process to a customer wanting a quick, strong, and effective bond of these kinds of materials.
The Champ 3 with Slot Die is used to apply a thin flat pattern of hot melt adhesive for bonding nonwoven materials to other nonwoven material.
Champ 3 Non Woven Demo on Youtube
For this application, manually tilt the Champ 3 so that the Slot Die nozzle is at a 30 degree angle relative to the substrate, depress the piston pump trigger, and finally move the gun across the substrate to apply a thin pattern.
It is recommended that you use a hot melt with a long open time and medium viscosity to insure that you have ample assembly time. This also ensures that the adhesive does not migrate too deeply or through the porous non-woven material.
Please note that other application methods can be used to bond non woven materials. (Click here for video of another example) Contact Pierce Covert at Glue Machinery Corporation to discuss your particular needs and wide range of options we have to offer.

Further information:
Beads of GIA1051 hot melt applied to different density EPS Foams.
Beads of GIA1051 at 334 F burn very little into substrate.
GIA1051 has a long open time that also gives good initial tack.
Bond between substrates is repositionable.
Bonds between EPS foams are permanent and destructible bonds.
